This Privacy Policy explains how TrailPilot accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when You use the Application.
Definitions
- Application means TrailPilot.
- Developer (referred to as “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) means the developer identified on the Application's Google Play page.
- Device means a phone, tablet, or other device on which You use the Application.
- Personal Data means information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
- You means the person using the Application.
Summary
The Developer does not sell Your Personal Data and does not directly collect or store Personal Data through developer-operated servers for this Application.
Information Stored on Your Device
Information created by the Application is retained on Your Device until You delete it, clear the Application's data, or uninstall the Application. Files that You export to folders outside the Application must be deleted from those folders separately.
TrailPilot has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, or developer-operated backend server. GPS tracks, waypoints, selected folders, and Application settings are stored locally on Your Device.
Location Data
TrailPilot accesses approximate and precise location only when needed for the map, GPS track recording, and navigation features that You choose to use.
When You start recording or navigation, location access may continue while the Application is minimized or the screen is locked. This is necessary to record Your route, update navigation progress, and provide route-deviation alerts. An ongoing Android notification identifies the active operation and provides controls to stop it.
Location calculations are performed on Your Device. Recorded track points remain on Your Device until You delete them, clear the Application's data, or uninstall the Application. Location data leaves the Device only when You explicitly export or share a file, or when an online map request described below contains the map area being viewed.
Files and Local Data
TrailPilot accesses only map and GPX folders that You select through Android's system document picker. It reads map and GPX files, and writes downloaded maps or exported recordings, only for features that You request.
You can delete recordings, waypoints, and supported external files from within TrailPilot.
TrailPilot Network Services
TrailPilot does not send Your GPS recordings or waypoints to the Developer.
If You use online OpenStreetMap tiles, TrailPilot requests the visible map tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. The OpenStreetMap Foundation may receive standard request information such as Your IP address, the request time, Application identifier, and requested tile paths, which can indicate the map area being viewed. Its handling of that information is governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
If You choose to download an OpenAndroMaps map, TrailPilot connects to the selected OpenAndroMaps download host. That independent service may receive standard request information such as Your IP address, the request time, Application identifier, and requested file.
Notifications
TrailPilot uses notifications to keep active recording, navigation, and map downloads visible and controllable. Notification permission is used only for these Application functions.
Network Requests and Third-Party Services
If the Application connects to an external service to provide a feature You request, that service may receive standard network information such as Your IP address, device type, request time, Application identifier, and requested resource. Any such information is processed by the relevant service under its own privacy policy.
Sharing
If You explicitly share, export, or open information with another application or service, the selected data is sent to the destination You choose and is then governed by that recipient's privacy practices.
Data Retention and Deletion
You control the information stored locally by the Application. You can remove it using the Application's available delete controls, by clearing the Application's data in Android settings, or by uninstalling the Application. Information exported outside the Application is retained by the selected destination according to its own policies.
Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the Application's data handling. Local information is protected by Android's application sandbox and applicable system access controls. Network connections use HTTPS where supported by the selected service. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children's Privacy
TrailPilot is not directed to children and the Developer does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children.

The Application may contain links to independent websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before using them.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the Application's behavior or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date will be changed.
